Dida Taffarel was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Patricio Ugutz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vinny Junior, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Vinny Junior fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Patricio Ugutz having to interfere. 42 minutes into the match, Barcellos Mineiro FC's goal looked a bit too open when Alfredo Martins came free, but Patricio Ugutz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dida Taffarel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dale Dolar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luisinho Uribe's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Dida Taffarel firmly grabbed it by the left post. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Alfredo Martins to strike the kick off in the second half.
