Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Igor Cavalera to make the kick off. The crowd rose to their feet as Ogro F.C.'s Igor Cavalera slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Dida Taffarel. That made the score 0-2 after 53 minutes of play. Igor Cavalera received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Dida Taffarel came out and tried to block the shot, but Igor Cavalera slotted it home off the left post making it 0-3 in the 61st minute. Alysson Rezende made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfredo Martins in the 64th minute of play. Igor Cavalera fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dida Taffarel having to interfere. Ogro F.C.'s Mike Mangini was substituted for Alex Van Halen. Alysson Rezende showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from German Cano, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. Dida Taffarel stood somewhat misplaced when Dan Zimmermann came free in front of goal and shot 0-4 to the left of him in the 70 minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marco Minnemann got free with Dida Taffarel in the 93rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Dida Taffarel made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mike Mangini in the 94th minute. Dida Taffarel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Thomas Lang, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Ogro F.C. walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
