Gav Benbow made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gilberto Posey in the 12th minute of play. Gav Benbow stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Reinaldo McCormick's shot from short distance in the 14th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Jan Örtendahl managed to get in a good position for a shot. Football Club Zestafoni's supporters rose to their feet, but Jan Örtendahl was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Waldo Helton breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Flame Throwers's Waldo Helton played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Patryk Frodyma in the 18th minute of play. Bo Eriksson hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. Waldo Helton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Patryk Frodyma, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Waldo Helton stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Patryk Frodyma's shot from short distance in the 26th minute. The corner led to Football Club Zestafoni's Uta Sulaberidze getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Flame Throwers's Waldo Helton played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anatoly Pilievi in the 29th minute of play. In the 31st minute Football Club Zestafoni were awarded a corner. Giorgi Gogava went to the cornerflag to take it. After 36 played minutes Football Club Zestafoni got a freekick which was hit by Jan Örtendahl. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Anatoly Pilievi in the 38th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Waldo Helton saved Flame Throwers from getting behind. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Patryk Frodyma in the 44th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Waldo Helton prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Patryk Frodyma had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Football Club Zestafoni's Patryk Frodyma came free and shot a quick shot against goal 52 minutes in the game, fortunately Waldo Helton had problems saving as it came toward the left post. In the 53rd minute Patryk Frodyma shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Waldo Helton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Patryk Frodyma got free with Waldo Helton in the 55th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 57 minutes Flame Throwers's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Giorgi Gogava who took care of the corner kick. When Flame Throwers's Reinaldo McCormick in the 59th minute got a chance for a shot 59th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Football Club Zestafoni's goalie prevented a goal. After 60 played minutes Flame Throwers got a freekick which was hit by Ali Frye. The supporters of Football Club Zestafoni booed when Flame Throwers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Brian Hyatt didn't get a good kick on the ball. Waldo Helton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Patryk Frodyma, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 66 minutes had been played when some careless play by Flame Throwers's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Giorgi Gogava was slow to take the kick. During this time Football Club Zestafoni's players had a chance to rest. Giorgi Gogava made a great header on Football Club Zestafoni's corner, it was just that Flame Throwers's Waldo Helton managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 67th match minute, Flame Throwers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ali Frye to maneuver through the defense. Patryk Frodyma sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Football Club Zestafoni made a substitution. Ty Cornish replaced Gogita Gagnidze. Gav Benbow showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gilberto Posey, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. After 76 played minutes Football Club Zestafoni got a freekick which was hit by Patryk Frodyma. A collision led to Flame Throwers getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Ali Frye hit a great ball. In the 79th minute, Giorgi Gogava got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 81st minute Reinaldo McCormick shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gav Benbow saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Patryk Frodyma fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Waldo Helton having to interfere. With an all-out effort, Football Club Zestafoni's Waldo Helton threw himself towards the right post 94 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Patryk Frodyma, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The Football Club Zestafoni supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Football Club Zestafoni would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
