Taco Uebels made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jedrzej Kiszkiel in the 19th minute. FC Ouagadougou National's Rene Vereijt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by David Wilmink in the 24th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by William Westelinx in the 28th minute of play forced Fc Benefica's goalkeeper Taco Uebels to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Jens van Basten had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Leandro Soares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Rene Vereijt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Taco Uebels was a little too slow when Jedrzej Kiszkiel got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 42nd minute. The score was now 1-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Jedrzej Kiszkiel made the kick off in the second half. Taco Uebels showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from William Westelinx, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. In the 64th minute William Westelinx shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Taco Uebels saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jens van Basten hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. In the 67th minute, Jens van Basten hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 68 minutes into the match, Fc Benefica's goal looked a bit too open when Abdulla Baia came free, but Taco Uebels reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Fc Benefica defense, Abdulla Baia kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Taco Uebels. The Fc Benefica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Taco Uebels should have stopped the shot. FC Ouagadougou National's Dani Rojas was substituted for Jedrzej Kiszkiel. Fc Benefica made a substitution. Hugo Andriessen replaced Humberto Jonge. In the 77th minute Abdulla Baia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Taco Uebels saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Taco Uebels showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abdulla Baia, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. After a rather tough play, Fc Benefica's Eduard Gryshko got a free kick in the 86th minute. Dani Rojas took the ball and in the 89 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Taco Uebels. Taco Uebels dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. A collision led to FC Ouagadougou National getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Baba R. Hansen hit a great ball. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. FC Ouagadougou National fully deserved thier win.
