In the 15th minute, Coconuts FC's Dani Pinos seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Dani Pinos the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Coconuts FC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Dani Pinos had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Monroe Braun shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. When Fabricio Arieta came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the Coconuts FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fabricio Arieta couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oso Pimentel in the 25th minute of play forced Key West FC's goalkeeper Roger Magalhães to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 28th match minute, Coconuts FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zunbeltz Arellanes to maneuver through the defense. In the 29th minute, Matt Mott got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 30th minute, Calvin Yarbrough hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Xulian Lorenz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Coconuts FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Xulian Lorenz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Roger Magalhães breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Coconuts FC's Vera Andino got a free kick in the 39th minute. The supporters of Key West FC booed when Coconuts FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carlos-Alberto Carrizo didn't get a good kick on the ball. 41 minutes into the match, Matt Mott had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Hector-Luis Iglesia. Coconuts FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Matt Mott was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Jasper Landrum fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hector-Luis Iglesia having to interfere. Jasper Landrum charged in rather forcefully in the 46th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jasper Landrum the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Key West FC's Jasper Landrum got a free kick in the 46th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fabricio Arieta in the 47th minute of play forced Key West FC's goalkeeper Roger Magalhães to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

If Fabricio Arieta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Freddie Moyer did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-2 to the left of a surprised Hector-Luis Iglesia 80 minutes into the match. 84 minutes into the game, Pedro Hudobro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Coconuts FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Key West FC the free kick. The supporters of Coconuts FC booed when Key West FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Randall Whitley didn't get a good kick on the ball.
