Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) 3 minutes into the match, Abel Stanislao had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Joe Ellerby. St. Etienne's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Abel Stanislao was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Joe Ellerby showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fabricio Asteri in the 6th minute of the match. When Gerardo Maidana fell near the penalty area in the 6th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored C.A.I.'s protests and gave Gerardo Maidana a yellow card for diving instead. In the 6th minute, Gerardo Maidana hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. St. Etienne's Sonny Winstanley shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 8th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Samuel Hondo but with some difficulty. Joe Ellerby showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fabricio Asteri, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. When C.A.I.'s Abel Stanislao in the 12th minute got a chance for a shot 12th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye St. Etienne's goalie prevented a goal. Joel Castledine's late challenge caught a C.A.I.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Joel Castledine helped the player get up and apologised. Joel Castledine hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. After 21 minutes of play, C.A.I.'s Abel Stanislao made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Joe Ellerby was left in no man's land by his defense there! 26 minutes into the match, C.A.I.'s goal looked a bit too open when Christian Osbon came free, but Samuel Hondo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Joe Ellerby showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Saturnino Hernando, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Abel Stanislao fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joe Ellerby having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in St. Etienne's zone, Luciano Tome stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joe Ellerby came out of the goal and Luciano Tome tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Saturnino Hernando took the ball and in the 46 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Joe Ellerby. Joe Ellerby dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Seth England stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Kyle Hurdle fell near the penalty area in the 52nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored St. Etienne's protests and gave Kyle Hurdle a yellow card for diving instead. Kyle Hurdle hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. The audience was convinced that Abel Stanislao's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Joe Ellerby was relentless in the 55th minute of the game. Saturnino Hernando struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. Joe Ellerby didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for C.A.I.. St. Etienne's Joe Ellerby played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abel Stanislao in the 66th minute of play. Fabricio Asteri hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. If Saturnino Hernando had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Abel Stanislao made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 74thth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Joe Ellerby would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. Fabricio Asteri's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Joe Ellerby firmly grabbed it by the left post. When the match had gone on for 77 minutes, Abel Stanislao took a quick shot and it went in 0-4 without a chance for Joe Ellerby to make any attempt to save it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Saturnino Hernando in the 82nd minute of play forced St. Etienne's goalkeeper Joe Ellerby to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. C.A.I.'s Saturnino Hernando got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Saturnino Hernando came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the C.A.I. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Saturnino Hernando couldn't finish the play. C.A.I. played a much better game than St. Etienne and deserved their victory. The St. Etienne players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
