When the match clock showed 5 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Travis Beckwith sped through Athletic Club London FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Fitz Donnelly. After some careless play in the K. Beerschot VAC defense, Damon Sheldon kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Stefan Gunn. The K. Beerschot VAC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Stefan Gunn should have stopped the shot. In the 16th minute, Chris Cadwallader made a precise shot to the right of Fitz Donnelly. Athletic Club London FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3. 19 minutes into the game, K. Beerschot VAC's Chris Cadwallader nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Fitz Donnelly made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-4. Luke Lockwood received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Stefan Gunn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fitz Donnelly showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Chris Cadwallader, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Damon Sheldon hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Travis Beckwith fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fitz Donnelly having to interfere. If Chris Cadwallader had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The K. Beerschot VAC fans' excitement grew in the 35th match minute when K. Beerschot VAC's Chris Cadwallader looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-6 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 39th minute, Damon Sheldon left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Athletic Club London FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-6. Damon Sheldon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stefan Gunn having to interfere. If Damon Sheldon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 48 minutes into the match, Athletic Club London FC's Damon Sheldon sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Stefan Gunn narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Devon Potter to make the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, K. Beerschot VAC's goal looked a bit too open when Damon Sheldon came free, but Stefan Gunn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rodd Soussan in the 57th minute of play forced Athletic Club London FC's goalkeeper Fitz Donnelly to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Athletic Club London FC's Fitz Donnelly played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Chris Cadwallader in the 64th minute of play. Damon Sheldon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 76thth minute of the game Chris Cadwallader who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Athletic Club London FC's Fitz Donnelly was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Damon Sheldon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Stefan Gunn stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Damon Sheldon's shot from short distance in the 81st minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Rodd Soussan managed to get in a good position for a shot. K. Beerschot VAC's supporters rose to their feet, but Rodd Soussan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fitz Donnelly breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Stefan Gunn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Devon Potter, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. The Athletic Club London FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching K. Beerschot VAC's performance. The match ended with a win for K. Beerschot VAC.
