In the 3rdth minute of the game Billy Hallam who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but K. Beerschot VAC's Stefan Gunn was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Billy Hallam struck a weak shot in the 6th minute. Stefan Gunn didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Milano City AFC. Beinn McGrath showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Chris Cadwallader in the 8th minute of the match. Stefan Gunn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dylan Holroyd, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Billy Hallam's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Stefan Gunn read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 11th minute of play. Billy Hallam fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stefan Gunn having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Billy Hallam managed to get in a good position for a shot. Milano City AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Billy Hallam was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Stefan Gunn breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Dylan Holroyd's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Stefan Gunn read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 18th minute of play. Hugh Addison hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. In the 20th minute, Travis Beckwith reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Beinn McGrath. The goal made the score 1-0. When the match had gone on for 26 minutes, Billy Hallam put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Stefan Gunn. Beinn McGrath made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Travis Beckwith sent off a good shot on target. Chris Cadwallader recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Bobby Lagdon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stefan Gunn having to interfere. In the 38th minute, Billy Hallam got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Bobby Lagdon's late challenge caught a K. Beerschot VAC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bobby Lagdon helped the player get up and apologised. Bobby Lagdon kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Travis Beckwith managed to get in a good position for a shot. K. Beerschot VAC's supporters rose to their feet, but Travis Beckwith was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Beinn McGrath breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Billy Hallam to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Chris Cadwallader in the 52nd minute of play forced Milano City AFC's goalkeeper Beinn McGrath to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Milano City AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bobby Lagdon was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Billy Hallam's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 93rdth minute, Stefan Gunn skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Billy Hallam in the 96th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Stefan Gunn prevented the ball from getting in the gole.
