When Sebastien Murtagh was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 45 minutes had been played. In the 45th match minute, St. Etienne was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sebastien Murtagh to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 46 minutes, Travis Beckwith managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. K. Ryan Wildman was slow to take the kick. During this time K. Beerschot VAC's players had a chance to rest. If Harvey Branch had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The K. Beerschot VAC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
