Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 12 minutes into the match, Chris Cadwallader had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rogelio Bihar. C.A.I.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Chris Cadwallader was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. After having played for 19 minutes, Steven Chadwick managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. K. Beerschot VAC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Steven Chadwick was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nicasio Efren fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stefan Gunn having to interfere. When Nicasio Efren came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the C.A.I. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nicasio Efren couldn't finish the play. In the 30th minute, Steven Chadwick hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gustavo Innocenzio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Stefan Gunn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rogelio Bihar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rodd Soussan, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. In the 42nd minute the ball was on its way in behind C.A.I.'s goalkeeper Rogelio Bihar, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nicasio Efren got free with Stefan Gunn in the 44th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Rogelio Bihar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Chris Cadwallader, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Chris Cadwallader made a kick off. Rogelio Bihar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Travis Beckwith in the 51st minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as K. Beerschot VAC's Chris Cadwallader slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Rogelio Bihar. That made the score 0-2 after 55 minutes of play. In the 58th minute, Wesley Burkinshaw hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Stefan Gunn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fabricio Asteri in the 59th minute of the match. Chris Cadwallader fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rogelio Bihar having to interfere. Rodd Soussan kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. In the 64thth minute of the game Abel Stanislao who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but K. Beerschot VAC's Stefan Gunn was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Nicasio Efren came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the C.A.I. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nicasio Efren couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nicasio Efren in the 73rd minute of play forced K. Beerschot VAC's goalkeeper Stefan Gunn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 77 minutes into the game, Saturnino Hernando was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. C.A.I.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave K. Beerschot VAC the free kick. The supporters of K. Beerschot VAC booed when C.A.I. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Saturnino Hernando didn't get a good kick on the ball. Stefan Gunn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nicasio Efren in the 86th minute of play. Travis Beckwith sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Nicasio Efren managed to get in a good position for a shot. C.A.I.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Nicasio Efren was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Stefan Gunn breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 93rd minute, Nicasio Efren left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The C.A.I. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched K. Beerschot VAC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
