Elpidio Francis showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. A collision led to ᴀᴄʜᴛᴜɴɢ ʙᴀʙɪᴇs ᴾᴵᴬᴿᴬ getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Jan Falkiewicz hit a great ball. A throw-in in the 34th minute of the game was made by Torsten Norberg with Donato Luar as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Branislav Velchevski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Héctor Mainer, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. Héctor Mainer scored 1-1 in the 37th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Branislav Velchevski, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Elpidio Francis was extremely unlucky when he, in the 40th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. After 43 played minutes ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA got a freekick which was hit by Petrică Măcriș. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Elpidio Francis stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Héctor Mainer's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Branislav Velchevski read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 53rd minute of play. Jacobo Mendiko made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from André Monclús in the 73rd minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as ᴀᴄʜᴛᴜɴɢ ʙᴀʙɪᴇs ᴾᴵᴬᴿᴬ's Franco Milazzo slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Branislav Velchevski. That made the score 1-2 after 85 minutes of play. A collision led to ᴀᴄʜᴛᴜɴɢ ʙᴀʙɪᴇs ᴾᴵᴬᴿᴬ getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Santiago Sosa hit a great ball. ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's Branislav Velchevski proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 93rd minute of the match, managed to save ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA from getting a goal against them. ᴀᴄʜᴛᴜɴɢ ʙᴀʙɪᴇs ᴾᴵᴬᴿᴬ's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
