The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Boleslaw Sidorowicz who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 5thth minute tested the skills of Matías Patrone when he managed to save the team from getting behind. If Atilano Quinten had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Romain Berrewouts got free with Matías Patrone in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Mías Khalifa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arquímedes Cesario in the 13th minute of the match. Honorato Bibiano hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. Atilano Quinten struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Mías Khalifa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Los Delfines. Los Delfines's Matías Patrone proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 25th minute of the match, managed to save Los Delfines from getting a goal against them. Simbo FC's Romain Berrewouts came free and shot a quick shot against goal 25 minutes in the game, fortunately Matías Patrone had problems saving as it came toward the left post. 26 minutes into the match, Simbo FC's Boleslaw Sidorowicz sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Matías Patrone narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With a little luck, Los Delfines's Matías Patrone got control of the ball when Romain Berrewouts tried to sneak it across the goal line. Raimundo Goyo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mías Khalifa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 35th minute of play. In the 36th minute Los Delfines were awarded a corner. Lu Bin Yuan went to the cornerflag to take it. Mías Khalifa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Atilano Quinten, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. In the 46th minute, Atilano Quinten ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mías Khalifa was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. The Simbo FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Los Delfines were winning 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Romain Berrewouts made a kick off. Arquímedes Cesario could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Mías Khalifa made a huge save. Simbo FC's Mías Khalifa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save Simbo FC from getting a goal against them. In the 56th minute, Romain Berrewouts hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Simbo FC getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Romain Berrewouts hit a great ball. After 64 played minutes Los Delfines got a freekick which was hit by José Luis Brown. Simbo FC's Niceto Nafarroa was substituted for Boleslaw Sidorowicz. After 65 played minutes Los Delfines got a freekick which was hit by José Luis Brown. Tincho Palermo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Matías Patrone read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 82nd minute of play. In the 88thth minute of the game Oliver Bierhoff who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Simbo FC's Mías Khalifa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 89th minute Los Delfines were awarded a corner. Raimundo Goyo went to the cornerflag to take it. 93 minutes into the game, Simbo FC's Tincho Palermo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Matías Patrone made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Mías Khalifa was a little too slow when Oliver Bierhoff got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 96th minute. The score was now 1-2. The Los Delfines supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Los Delfines would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
