The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 7th minute Vladimiro Jerold shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Juan Carlos Alvarez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Fermin Arixo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 12 minutes into the game, Vladimiro Jerold cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Juan Carlos Alvarez was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Boyko Rushkarski hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. Los Gallos's Anacleto Horado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fermin Arixo in the 17th minute of play. Ismael Iglesias got a throw-in 19 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Fernando Ciano. Anacleto Horado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dionisio Panpili, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. A collision led to Los Gallos getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Leonel Libertad hit a great ball. Los Gallos's Anacleto Horado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dionisio Panpili in the 30th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Marlin FC's Santiago Cachorro got a free kick in the 34th minute. In the 37th minute of the game Fernando Ciano made a throw-in which Giovanni Rana played forward. 40 minutes into the match, Los Gallos's goal looked a bit too open when Dionisio Panpili came free, but Anacleto Horado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 42nd minute, Fernando Ciano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 43 played minutes Marlin FC got a freekick which was hit by Santiago Cachorro. The audience thought a goal was coming when Boyko Rushkarski got free with Juan Carlos Alvarez in the 44th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Leonel Libertad's late challenge caught a Marlin FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Leonel Libertad helped the player get up and apologised. In the 45th minute, Leonel Libertad hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Vladimiro Jerold to make the kick off. Gipuzkoa Chamochin hit a great freekick 50 minutes into the match. In the 57th minute, Fermin Arixo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Marlin FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fermin Arixo got free with Anacleto Horado in the 61st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vladimiro Jerold in the 65th minute of play forced Marlin FC's goalkeeper Juan Carlos Alvarez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 68 minutes into the game, Marlin FC's Fermin Arixo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Anacleto Horado made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. Fernando Polo hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. When Ismael Iglesias came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the Marlin FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ismael Iglesias couldn't finish the play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fernando Polo during the 76th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Marlin FC booed when Los Gallos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fernando Polo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 77th minute of the match Ismael Iglesias sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Anacleto Horado skillfully saved the ball. In the 83rd minute, Fermin Arixo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Anacleto Horado was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-4. Anacleto Horado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fermin Arixo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Vladimiro Jerold came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Los Gallos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vladimiro Jerold couldn't finish the play. Muni Cero hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. When Marlin FC's Linus Fredriksson in the 97th minute got a chance for a shot 97th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Los Gallos's goalie prevented a goal. Marlin FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
