Belchior Saldanha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Elpidio Francis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jan-Olof Eliasson in the 7th minute of play forced ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's goalkeeper Branislav Velchevski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the La Gallardeta defense, Elpidio Francis kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Belchior Saldanha. The La Gallardeta fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Belchior Saldanha should have stopped the shot. Branislav Velchevski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jan-Olof Eliasson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Branislav Velchevski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jan-Olof Eliasson in the 16th minute of play. After 17 minutes ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Alessio Scandella who took care of the corner kick. La Gallardeta's Alessio Scandella was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Branislav Velchevski in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Belchior Saldanha showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Elpidio Francis, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. In the 24th minute Elpidio Francis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Belchior Saldanha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 25 minutes into the match, ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's goal looked a bit too open when Fulgencio Gartzi came free, but Branislav Velchevski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Belchior Saldanha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elpidio Francis in the 28th minute of play. After 34 played minutes ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA got a freekick which was hit by Petrică Măcriș. In the 42nd minute, Elpidio Francis left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA made a substitution. André Monclús replaced Elpidio Francis. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Fulgencio Gartzi to make the kick off. In the 54th minute Petrică Măcriș shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Belchior Saldanha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Belchior Saldanha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from André Monclús in the 56th minute of play. After 67 minutes of play, ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's André Monclús made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Belchior Saldanha was left in no man's land by his defense there! 75 minutes into the match, André Monclús notched a goal, 5-0, to the right of La Gallardeta's Belchior Saldanha. Belchior Saldanha was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 81st minute, Sädräddin Cavadov hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Petrică Măcriș recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling André Monclús in the 83rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Belchior Saldanha prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Belchior Saldanha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from André Monclús in the 85th minute of the match. 86 minutes into the game, La Gallardeta's Fulgencio Gartzi nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Branislav Velchevski made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-1. In the 93rd minute, Petrică Măcriș hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA had won after a very even match.
