An unexpectedly hard shot by Héctor Mainer in the 3rd minute of play forced Los Delfines's goalkeeper Matías Patrone to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Los Delfines defense, Héctor Mainer kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Matías Patrone. The Los Delfines fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Matías Patrone should have stopped the shot. 20 minutes into the match, ᴀᴄʜᴛᴜɴɢ ʙᴀʙɪᴇs ᴾᴵᴬᴿᴬ's goal looked a bit too open when Oliver Bierhoff came free, but Jacobo Mendiko reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 22nd minute of the game José Luis Brown made a throw-in which Oran Gutti played forward. Matías Patrone took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Héctor Mainer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jacobo Mendiko showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oliver Bierhoff, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. ᴀᴄʜᴛᴜɴɢ ʙᴀʙɪᴇs ᴾᴵᴬᴿᴬ's Jacobo Mendiko played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oliver Bierhoff in the 37th minute of play. Los Delfines's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Victor Jerrold in the 39th minute. In the 45th match minute, ᴀᴄʜᴛᴜɴɢ ʙᴀʙɪᴇs ᴾᴵᴬᴿᴬ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jan Falkiewicz to maneuver through the defense. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Oliver Bierhoff to make the kick off. Los Delfines were awarded a corner in the 55th minute after ᴀᴄʜᴛᴜɴɢ ʙᴀʙɪᴇs ᴾᴵᴬᴿᴬ's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Victor Jerrold took the corner. The audience thought a goal was coming when Héctor Mainer got free with Matías Patrone in the 64th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Los Delfines getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Raimundo Goyo hit a great ball. In the 73rd minute, ᴀᴄʜᴛᴜɴɢ ʙᴀʙɪᴇs ᴾᴵᴬᴿᴬ's Franco Milazzo dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-2. 81 minutes into the match, Los Delfines's Zachary Pliszka sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jacobo Mendiko narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Jacobo Mendiko stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Zachary Pliszka's shot from short distance in the 84th minute. 91 minutes into the game, one of Los Delfines:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. With a little luck, Los Delfines's Matías Patrone got control of the ball when Franco Milazzo tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. ᴀᴄʜᴛᴜɴɢ ʙᴀʙɪᴇs ᴾᴵᴬᴿᴬ had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
