Yu Jian Tian's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fernando Selatse read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 11th minute of play. Despidida AFC's Emiliano Velasco got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Emiliano Velasco's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Marcelino Flor was relentless in the 22nd minute of the game. 27 minutes into the match, Despidida AFC's goalkeeper Fernando Selatse had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Yu Jian Tian. Marcelino Flor took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dinu Ivănescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to ₡ösᴛᴀ ᴆᴇ ₿ᴀʀᴙɪĿ getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Heiko Muuga hit a great ball. After 34 played minutes Despidida AFC got a freekick which was hit by Pastor Tino. Marcelino Flor stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dinu Ivănescu's shot from short distance in the 40th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emiliano Velasco in the 43rd minute of play forced ₡ösᴛᴀ ᴆᴇ ₿ᴀʀᴙɪĿ's goalkeeper Marcelino Flor to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Yu Jian Tian made the kick off in the second half. Gaétan Jeannot made in the 62nd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Despidida AFC's Gabriel Silban. In the 64th minute José Sand shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fernando Selatse saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by José Sand in the 70th minute of play forced Despidida AFC's goalkeeper Fernando Selatse to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. José Sand sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Fernando Selatse took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from José Sand, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling José Sand in the 73rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fernando Selatse prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alvaro Raymond got free with Marcelino Flor in the 75th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. ₡ösᴛᴀ ᴆᴇ ₿ᴀʀᴙɪĿ's Ovidio Marin was substituted for Wen Hai Le. After 78 minutes ₡ösᴛᴀ ᴆᴇ ₿ᴀʀᴙɪĿ's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Emanuel Lucila who took care of the corner kick. Kajetan Gdowik was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Alvaro Raymond sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Marcelino Flor showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alvaro Raymond in the 87th minute of the match. Marcelino Flor came out of the goal in the 88th minute to try and stop a shot by Despidida AFC's Alvaro Raymond. But to his dismay, Alvaro Raymond quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. In the 92nd minute, Despidida AFC's Cain Velasquez seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Cain Velasquez the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Despidida AFC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Cain Velasquez had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 92 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Despidida AFC! When the match was over Despidida AFC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than ₡ösᴛᴀ ᴆᴇ ₿ᴀʀᴙɪĿ throughout the match.
