Ludo Vanden Bossche showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Laurențiu Roşculeţ, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. Brugge United's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Alfons Bagge in the 15th minute. Vítor Baia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abdi Mehmet Rakim in the 33rd minute of the match. Ludo Vanden Bossche took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Guido Vissenaeken, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 36thth minute of the game Abdi Mehmet Rakim who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Brugge United's Vítor Baia was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When the match had gone on for 36 minutes, Abdi Mehmet Rakim put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Vítor Baia. A collision led to The Everett Hawks getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Andy Van Aghten hit a great ball. 42 minutes into the match, Brugge United's goal looked a bit too open when Philippe-Arnaud Heremans came free, but Vítor Baia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Everett Hawks were awarded a corner in the 43th minute after Brugge United's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Feijo Fresnos took the corner. The Everett Hawks's Feijo Fresnos was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Vítor Baia in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Brugge United's Waud Huijbrechts was substituted for Jaspar Van Den Broeck. Brugge United made a substitution. Goffrey Sas replaced Guido Vissenaeken. Goffrey Sas did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-1 to the left of a surprised Ludo Vanden Bossche 78 minutes into the match. 82 minutes into the match, Ümit Karan notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of The Everett Hawks's Ludo Vanden Bossche. Ludo Vanden Bossche was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Ludo Vanden Bossche didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Arnauld Van Impe went, in the 90th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score.
