In the 16thth minute of the game Mac Mon who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Fc Benefica's Taco Uebels was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 18th minute, Nic Verheijd left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC Bruges fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Xavies Muñagorri in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Taco Uebels prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched FC Bruges eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
