Lu Zhen Sheng came out of the goal and Ayberk Akgün tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Charlie Grantham had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ayberk Akgün got free with Lu Zhen Sheng in the 9th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Sten Naredi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zachariasz Psotka, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. Ayberk Akgün might have been able to make a better finish in the 30th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Lu Zhen Sheng. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ayberk Akgün ran back to his position shaking his head. Ayberk Akgün could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 30th minute of the match, but Lu Zhen Sheng made a huge save. Sten Naredi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jonathan Otto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 35th minute Waldemar Cardozo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sten Naredi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Ayberk Akgün's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lu Zhen Sheng was relentless in the 37th minute of the game. 39 minutes into the game, Xavier Rapado threw the ball into play from the sideline.
