Near End's Brandon McConnach was substituted for Antoni Fikus. Hertha 1969 made a substitution. Rupert Heidingsfelder replaced Wilhelm Nienhaus. Feliks Marchefka hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. Aleksander Brodzki recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Edgar Dres stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rupert Heidingsfelder's shot from short distance in the 84th minute. Rune Jarstein showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from 宋骏博 in the 85th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zé Paulo da Silva in the 87th minute of play forced Near End's goalkeeper Edgar Dres to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 89th minute Rupert Heidingsfelder shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edgar Dres saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rune Jarstein made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Brandon McConnach in the 92nd minute of play. Edgar Dres took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rupert Heidingsfelder, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. For all the effort they put into the match, the Near End players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Hertha 1969.
