Gwidon Iwanowski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jurand Frankowski, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. 7 minutes into the match, Westbam's goal looked a bit too open when Tirso Isasaga came free, but Gwidon Iwanowski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ulryk Mitus made in the 11th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Borys Smolarek however managed to control. Gwidon Iwanowski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Czeslaw Domeracki in the 12th minute of the match. Westbam's Gwidon Iwanowski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Şota Arveladze in the 13th minute of play. Gwidon Iwanowski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Czeslaw Domeracki, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. Gwidon Iwanowski stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Czeslaw Domeracki's shot from short distance in the 19th minute. The audience was convinced that Czeslaw Domeracki's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gwidon Iwanowski was relentless in the 36th minute of the game. A collision led to Westbam getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Szczepan Ikalewicz hit a great ball. Gwidon Iwanowski came out of the goal and Czeslaw Domeracki tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match had gone on for 43 minutes, Czeslaw Domeracki put it in 0-3 from a short distance just to the right of Gwidon Iwanowski. If Tirso Isasaga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The Westbam players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Olympique Gdynia were winning 0-3.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Czeslaw Domeracki stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Gwidon Iwanowski tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Czeslaw Domeracki in the 70th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gwidon Iwanowski saved Westbam from getting behind. After 73 minutes of play, Olympique Gdynia's Tirso Isasaga made it 0-9 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gwidon Iwanowski was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Czeslaw Domeracki in the 83rd minute of play forced Westbam's goalkeeper Gwidon Iwanowski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Fabio-Roman Zabaleta came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Olympique Gdynia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fabio-Roman Zabaleta couldn't finish the play. In the 87thth minute of the game Czeslaw Domeracki who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Westbam's Gwidon Iwanowski was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The supporters of Olympique Gdynia booed when Westbam was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wincenty Oleszak didn't get a good kick on the ball.
