Fabian Arendarski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wilhelm Nienhaus, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. A hard shot 20 in the game by Roman Kon from a close distance when the talented Rune Jarstein managed to make a qualified save. Hertha 1969's players were relieved. In the 25th minute, Wilhelm Nienhaus ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Fabian Arendarski was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. A collision led to Zagłębie Dąbrowskie getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Karol Biskupiak hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Wilhelm Nienhaus in the 30th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fabian Arendarski prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Roman Kon could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 33rd minute of the match, but Rune Jarstein made a huge save. In the 35th minute Karol Biskupiak shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rune Jarstein saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 41st minute Wilhelm Nienhaus shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabian Arendarski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Wilhelm Nienhaus to strike the kick off in the second half. Gigel Elenescu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 51st minute of the match, but Fabian Arendarski made a huge save. After 53 played minutes Zagłębie Dąbrowskie got a freekick which was hit by Roman Kon. An unexpectedly hard shot by István Hoffman in the 56th minute of play forced Hertha 1969's goalkeeper Rune Jarstein to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Zagłębie Dąbrowskie's zone, Gigel Elenescu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fabian Arendarski came out of the goal and Gigel Elenescu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Hertha 1969's Rune Jarstein played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by István Hoffman in the 67th minute of play. A nice corner shot did that István Hoffman got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Rune Jarstein quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Fabian Arendarski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wilhelm Nienhaus, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fabian Arendarski came out of the goal in the 73rd minute to try and stop a shot by Hertha 1969's Gigel Elenescu. But to his dismay, Gigel Elenescu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Zagłębie Dąbrowskie made a substitution. Kusti Jõeäär replaced Roman Kon. Fabian Arendarski came out of the goal in the 78th minute to try and stop a shot by Hertha 1969's Gigel Elenescu. But to his dismay, Gigel Elenescu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Fabian Arendarski made a fantastic save in the 81st minute, when Gigel Elenescu sent off a good shot on target. Fabian Arendarski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zé Paulo da Silva in the 93rd minute of the match. The throw-in from Damazy Turok in the 95th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Hertha 1969's Lothar Heber. The Zagłębie Dąbrowskie fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Hertha 1969 were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
