The audience was convinced that Graeme Farrow's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Eddie Cadwallader was relentless in the 4th minute of the game. In the 4th minute, Pierre Huckerby hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 8thth minute of the game Vince Burgess who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Yellow Submarine FC's Eddie Cadwallader was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Vince Burgess in the 8th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Eddie Cadwallader prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 9 minutes, Barney Barfield mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Yellow Submarine FC and the Scarborough AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Scarborough AFC booed when Yellow Submarine FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Barney Barfield didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 12 played minutes Yellow Submarine FC got a freekick which was hit by Rufus Todd. Graeme Farrow's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eddie Cadwallader read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 24th minute of play. Shane Portway showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ronnie Moss, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Eddie Cadwallader stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Graeme Farrow's shot from short distance in the 27th minute. Scarborough AFC's Graeme Farrow got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Scarborough AFC's Shane Portway played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ronnie Moss in the 33rd minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rufus Todd during the 36th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Scarborough AFC booed when Yellow Submarine FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rufus Todd didn't get a good kick on the ball. Eddie Cadwallader came out of the goal in the 37th minute to try and stop a shot by Scarborough AFC's Vince Burgess. But to his dismay, Vince Burgess quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 43rd minute, Barney Barfield reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Shane Portway. The goal made the score 1-1. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Graeme Farrow was the one to do the kick off. Shane Portway showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rufus Todd, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Graeme Farrow who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 55thth minute tested the skills of Eddie Cadwallader when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The supporters of Scarborough AFC booed when Yellow Submarine FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rufus Todd didn't get a good kick on the ball. Eddie Cadwallader acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 60th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Ben Proctor. Shane Portway made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Neil Brady in the 70th minute of play. Eddie Cadwallader showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vince Burgess, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. Scarborough AFC's Shane Portway played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Barney Barfield in the 82nd minute of play. Graeme Farrows short, quick shot in the 83rdth minute got Eddie Cadwallader to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Shane Portway showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ronnie Moss in the 85th minute of the match. Vince Burgess fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eddie Cadwallader having to interfere. When Neil Tuck fell near the penalty area in the 90th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Yellow Submarine FC's protests and gave Neil Tuck a yellow card for diving instead. The goalkeeper, Eddie Cadwallader, was totally fooled by Scarborough AFC's Ben Proctor, who 92 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. With his leg Eddie Cadwallader managed to avoid a goal in the 95thth minute, when Scarborough AFC's Graeme Farrow fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Scarborough AFC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
