AFC Ascoli's Dale Tompkins played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wiktor Klucznik in the 4th minute of play. If Chesney Jobson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Igor Kinic made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kristian Topham in the 8th minute. Folke Carlsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Dale Tompkins tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dale Tompkins made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sverker Bock in the 11th minute of play. 14 minutes into the match, AFC Ascoli's goal looked a bit too open when Folke Carlsson came free, but Dale Tompkins reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sverker Bock kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Vidingsjö MOIF's Folke Carlsson got a free kick in the 19th minute. In the 22nd minute Chesney Jobson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Igor Kinic saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After taking down the ball on AFC Ascoli's corner Jo Furlong fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Igor Kinic quite easily take care of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sverker Bock in the 29th minute of play forced AFC Ascoli's goalkeeper Dale Tompkins to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Folke Carlsson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Chesney Jobson received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Igor Kinic came out and tried to block the shot, but Chesney Jobson slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 41st minute. Folke Carlsson hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. In the 47th minute Wiktor Klucznik shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dale Tompkins saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 48 minutes had been played when some careless play by AFC Ascoli's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Marcus Granqvist was slow to take the kick. During this time Vidingsjö MOIF's players had a chance to rest. Marcus Granqvist made a great header on Vidingsjö MOIF's corner, it was just that AFC Ascoli's Dale Tompkins managed to reach the ball for a save. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Chesney Jobson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After having played for 52 minutes, Marcus Granqvist managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vidingsjö MOIF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marcus Granqvist was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Alvar Olofsson kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. Kristian Topham sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Chesney Jobson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dale Tompkins showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Folke Carlsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Sverker Bock's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dale Tompkins read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 61st minute of play. Christopher Groom charged in rather forcefully in the 62nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Christopher Groom the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 63rd minute, Christopher Groom hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vidingsjö MOIF's Marcus Granqvist couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 64th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for AFC Ascoli. Rayan Boisset hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. Vidingsjö MOIF made a substitution. Tomas Hedström replaced Jan-Olof Kleen. After 71 minutes of play AFC Ascoli's Christopher Groom was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 71st minute, Christopher Groom hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vidingsjö MOIF's Marcus Granqvist couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute. In the 77th minute, Vidingsjö MOIF's Sverker Bock ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Dale Tompkins. Dale Tompkins yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-2. If Sverker Bock had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Adam Jennings charged in rather forcefully in the 86th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Adam Jennings the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Adam Jennings hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. In the 87th match minute, AFC Ascoli was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adam Jennings to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought it was a sure goal in the 89th minute, when Vidingsjö MOIF's Rayan Boisset after having done a great run through the defense got himself free with Dale Tompkins in AFC Ascoli's goal and fired away a shot, but it missed the goal by a fraction of an inch. The supporters of AFC Ascoli booed when Vidingsjö MOIF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tobias Högström didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vidingsjö MOIF's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
