The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Peter Chipperfield during the 3rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to FC Partizan Minsk getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Peter Chipperfield hit a great ball. After some careless play in the FC Partizan Minsk defense, Kristian Topham kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jamal Weatherhead. The FC Partizan Minsk fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jamal Weatherhead should have stopped the shot. If Kristian Topham had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 9th minute, Mick Slade got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Mick Slade fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored AFC Ascoli's protests and gave Mick Slade a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of FC Partizan Minsk booed when AFC Ascoli was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mick Slade didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dale Tompkins took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stefan Chegwyn, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Chesney Jobson in the 27th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jamal Weatherhead prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Dale Tompkins showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stefan Chegwyn, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. When Len Platt fell near the penalty area in the 37th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Partizan Minsk's protests and gave Len Platt a yellow card for diving instead. Len Platt hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. When AFC Ascoli's Chesney Jobson in the 38th minute got a chance for a shot 38th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye FC Partizan Minsk's goalie prevented a goal. Jamal Weatherhead showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Chesney Jobson in the 44th minute of the match. Jamal Weatherhead didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Kristian Topham went, in the 47th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Chesney Jobson made a kick off. 56 minutes into the game, Kristian Topham cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Jamal Weatherhead was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Dale Tompkins came out of the goal in the 60th minute to try and stop a shot by FC Partizan Minsk's Rowan Bacon. But to his dismay, Rowan Bacon quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-3. After having played for 64 minutes, Kristian Topham managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. AFC Ascoli's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kristian Topham was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jamal Weatherhead took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Chesney Jobson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Devon Willetts was shown his second yellow card after 69 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After a rather tough play, FC Partizan Minsk's Devon Willetts got a free kick in the 70th minute. If Rowan Bacon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Jo Furlong fell near the penalty area in the 79th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored AFC Ascoli's protests and gave Jo Furlong a yellow card for diving instead. Jonathon Long charged in rather forcefully in the 81st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jonathon Long the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Jonathon Long hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. In the 87th minute of the match AFC Ascoli got a corner. FC Partizan Minsk's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Jo Furlong ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led AFC Ascoli's Jo Furlong to fire away a dangerous shot which Jamal Weatherhead despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Adam Jennings hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice moves Kristian Topham could shoot a difficult shot in the 96th minute, which Jamal Weatherhead however easily saved by the left post. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kristian Topham in the 96th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jamal Weatherhead saved FC Partizan Minsk from getting behind. FC Partizan Minsk's defense didn't have a chance, in the 96th minute, when Chesney Jobson scored to the left of an out of position Jamal Weatherhead, making the score, 2-4.
