But to his dismay, Claudius Thumser quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. In the 15th minute Rowan Bacon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jorg Gerhold saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 18 minutes in the game, Welf Surkemper fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Jamal Weatherhead having to interfere. 23 minutes into the match, Welf Surkemper dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Jamal Weatherhead, 2-0. A collision led to VfL Blau Weiß getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Simon Schulzki hit a great ball. Rowan Bacon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Jorg Gerhold tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jonathon Long kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in FC Partizan Minsk's zone, Sören Gewalt stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jamal Weatherhead came out of the goal and Sören Gewalt tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jorg Gerhold stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Stefan Chegwyn's shot from short distance in the 37th minute. After 38 played minutes VfL Blau Weiß got a freekick which was hit by Stefan Swiatek. Rowan Bacon struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Jorg Gerhold didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Partizan Minsk. In the 47th match minute, VfL Blau Weiß was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Claudius Thumser to maneuver through the defense. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Welf Surkemper to make the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Sören Gewalt managed to get in a good position for a shot. VfL Blau Weiß's supporters rose to their feet, but Sören Gewalt was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jamal Weatherhead breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Peter Chipperfield took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 55th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Jorg Gerhold. VfL Blau Weiß's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 58th minute, Dom Horseman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jamal Weatherhead took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Welf Surkemper, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Simon Schulzki hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. Jamal Weatherhead made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Simon Schulzki in the 64th minute of play. With his leg Jorg Gerhold managed to avoid a goal in the 66thth minute, when FC Partizan Minsk's Rowan Bacon fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Stefan Chegwyn in the 74thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Jorg Gerhold, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. VfL Blau Weiß's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Stefan Chegwyn 76 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-3. Jonathon Longs short, quick shot in the 82ndth minute got Jorg Gerhold to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Jorg Gerhold made a fantastic save in the 85th minute, when Rowan Bacon sent off a good shot on target. VfL Blau Weiß's Jorg Gerhold played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stefan Chegwyn in the 91st minute of play. Rowan Bacon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jorg Gerhold having to interfere. When Gösta Hampl fell near the penalty area in the 94th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored VfL Blau Weiß's protests and gave Gösta Hampl a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, VfL Blau Weiß's Gösta Hampl got a free kick in the 94th minute. Rowan Bacon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched FC Partizan Minsk eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
