In the 7th minute Rannal McTom shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dale Tompkins saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 8th minute the ball was on its way in behind AFC Ascoli's goalkeeper Dale Tompkins, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Rannal McTom sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A sloppy throw-in by Harvey Panther in the 14th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Drommahane AF's Dermot Holt. An unexpectedly hard shot by Chesney Jobson in the 19th minute of play forced Drommahane AF's goalkeeper Bartley Colwell to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dale Tompkins showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rannal McTom in the 23rd minute of the match. Tadhg Murphy hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. Drommahane AF's Bartley Colwell proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save Drommahane AF from getting a goal against them. 32 minutes into the match, Chesney Jobson notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Drommahane AF's Bartley Colwell. Bartley Colwell was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Rannal McTom's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dale Tompkins read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. Rannal McTom fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dale Tompkins having to interfere.

The wind increased when Chesney Jobson made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Rannal McTom got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 52nd match minute, Drommahane AF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tadhg Murphy to maneuver through the defense. Drommahane AF's Bartley Colwell played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Chesney Jobson in the 54th minute of play. Dale Tompkins showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bercnan Grant in the 62nd minute of the match. After 63 minutes AFC Ascoli's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Biddy Ramsey who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Biddy Ramsey almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but AFC Ascoli's Dale Tompkins did a great save. In the 67th match minute, AFC Ascoli was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Chesney Jobson to maneuver through the defense. After 69 played minutes Drommahane AF got a freekick which was hit by Tadhg Murphy. Rannal McTom fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dale Tompkins having to interfere. If Chesney Jobson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kristian Topham's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bartley Colwell read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 77th minute of play. Loughlin Grant hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. In the 82nd minute of the match Jo Furlong sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Bartley Colwell skillfully saved the ball. In the 84th minute, Kristian Topham ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Bartley Colwell was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Drommahane AF's Rannal McTom got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In a very dangerous position, a player in AFC Ascoli fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 89th minute. Penalty! AFC Ascoli:s Dale Tompkins showed great skill when he stopped Biddy Ramsey:s penalty. Many of Drommahane AF's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Drommahane AF may have spent more time on the ball, but AFC Ascoli were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
