The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a defensive mix-up in VfL Blau Weiß's zone, Staffan Josefsson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jorg Gerhold came out of the goal and Staffan Josefsson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Vidingsjö MOIF's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Welf Surkemper 6 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. 10 minutes into the match, Vidingsjö MOIF's goal looked a bit too open when Welf Surkemper came free, but Igor Kinic reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 11th minute, Simon Schulzki hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Igor Kinic made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Welf Surkemper in the 13th minute of play. The Vidingsjö MOIF fans' excitement grew in the 22nd match minute when Vidingsjö MOIF's Wiktor Klucznik looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Jorg Gerhold came out of the goal in the 25th minute to try and stop a shot by Vidingsjö MOIF's Wiktor Klucznik. But to his dismay, Wiktor Klucznik quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Folke Carlsson in the 33rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jorg Gerhold saved VfL Blau Weiß from getting behind. Jorg Gerhold showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wiktor Klucznik, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. When Sören Gewalt came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the VfL Blau Weiß fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sören Gewalt couldn't finish the play. Welf Surkemper sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Wiktor Klucznik kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Welf Surkemper to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Folke Carlsson in the 51st minute of play forced VfL Blau Weiß's goalkeeper Jorg Gerhold to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 52ndth minute of the game Folke Carlsson who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but VfL Blau Weiß's Jorg Gerhold was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Staffan Josefsson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vidingsjö MOIF's supporters rose to their feet, but Staffan Josefsson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jorg Gerhold breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 56th minute Sören Gewalt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Igor Kinic saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A hard shot 88 in the game by Folke Carlsson from a close distance when the talented Jorg Gerhold managed to make a qualified save. VfL Blau Weiß's players were relieved.
