After a defensive mix-up in Yellow Submarine FC's zone, Rowan Bacon stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eddie Cadwallader came out of the goal and Rowan Bacon tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Neil Brady's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jamal Weatherhead read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 17th minute of play. Jack Rotherfield's late challenge caught a Yellow Submarine FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jack Rotherfield helped the player get up and apologised. After 18 played minutes FC Partizan Minsk got a freekick which was hit by Jack Rotherfield. Rowan Bacon struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Eddie Cadwallader didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Partizan Minsk. Jamal Weatherhead didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Barney Barfield went, in the 27th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Eddie Cadwallader stood somewhat misplaced when Stefan Chegwyn came free in front of goal and shot 1-2 to the left of him in the 30 minute. Rowan Bacon blasted a shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Eddie Cadwallader having to make a save. Len Platt kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. 39 minutes into the match, FC Partizan Minsk's goal looked a bit too open when Neil Brady came free, but Jamal Weatherhead reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rowan Bacon who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 40thth minute tested the skills of Eddie Cadwallader when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ronnie Moss was the one to do the kick off. After 51 played minutes, FC Partizan Minsk's Peter Chipperfield shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Eddie Cadwallader came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in FC Partizan Minsk reached it. After a rather tough play, Yellow Submarine FC's Barney Barfield got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Rowan Bacon hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. Rowan Bacon stood ready after the free kick and tried to head the ball into the goal, but got pushed from behind by one of Yellow Submarine FC's defenders and the ball went out. FC Partizan Minsk appealed in vain for a penalty, the referee looked over at the linesman, but the flag stayed down. No Penalty. After 56 minutes, Barney Barfield mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Yellow Submarine FC and the FC Partizan Minsk players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 57 played minutes, FC Partizan Minsk's Wes Izzard shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Eddie Cadwallader came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in FC Partizan Minsk reached it. Rufus Todd received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Jamal Weatherhead came out and tried to block the shot, but Rufus Todd slotted it home off the left post making it 1-3 in the 58th minute. 67 minutes into the match, FC Partizan Minsk's goalkeeper Jamal Weatherhead had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Neil Brady. Barney Barfield could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 69th minute of the match, but Jamal Weatherhead made a huge save. Rowan Bacon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eddie Cadwallader having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Stefan Chegwyn in the 74th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Eddie Cadwallader prevented the ball from getting in the gole. FC Partizan Minsk's Jamal Weatherhead proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save FC Partizan Minsk from getting a goal against them. A collision led to Yellow Submarine FC getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Norman Blake hit a great ball. When Wes Izzard fell near the penalty area in the 82nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Partizan Minsk's protests and gave Wes Izzard a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, FC Partizan Minsk's Wes Izzard got a free kick in the 82nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rowan Bacon in the 93rd minute of play forced Yellow Submarine FC's goalkeeper Eddie Cadwallader to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
