AFC Ascoli's Dale Tompkins played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vince Burgess in the 3rd minute of play. Shane Portway came out of the goal in the 6th minute to try and stop a shot by AFC Ascoli's Chesney Jobson. But to his dismay, Chesney Jobson quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. When Scarborough AFC's Vince Burgess in the 10th minute got a chance for a shot 10th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye AFC Ascoli's goalie prevented a goal. Dale Tompkins stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Vince Burgess's shot from short distance in the 11th minute. With his leg Dale Tompkins managed to avoid a goal in the 14thth minute, when Scarborough AFC's Graeme Farrow fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Vince Burgess's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 18thth minute, Dale Tompkins skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Chesney Jobson succeeded in the game's 22nd minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-2. AFC Ascoli's Dale Tompkins proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 25th minute of the match, managed to save AFC Ascoli from getting a goal against them. Kristian Topham charged in rather forcefully in the 28th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Kristian Topham the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Kristian Topham hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. 30 minutes into the match, AFC Ascoli's goalkeeper Dale Tompkins had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Vince Burgess. Graeme Farrow came free with the goalkeeper in the 33rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Dale Tompkins could save by the left post. The supporters of AFC Ascoli booed when Scarborough AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Graeme Farrow didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Vince Burgess's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dale Tompkins was relentless in the 40th minute of the game.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Graeme Farrow made a kick off. Mick Slade recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Dale Tompkins showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Graeme Farrow, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Ian Keane hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. Scarborough AFC's Shane Portway proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save Scarborough AFC from getting a goal against them. When Scarborough AFC's Graeme Farrow in the 57th minute got a chance for a shot 57th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye AFC Ascoli's goalie prevented a goal. A long shot from Dom Cunningham in the 59th minute of play was well struck, but Shane Portway made a really good save at the right post. Shane Portway showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Chesney Jobson in the 65th minute of the match. Graeme Farrow fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dale Tompkins having to interfere. Mick Slade fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Shane Portway having to interfere. Shane Portway made a fantastic save in the 72nd minute, when Kristian Topham sent off a good shot on target. Chesney Jobson scored 1-3 in the 75th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Shane Portway, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Graeme Farrow sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 87 minutes into the match, AFC Ascoli's goal looked a bit too open when Graeme Farrow came free, but Dale Tompkins reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Scarborough AFC booed when AFC Ascoli was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adam Jennings didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Vince Burgess's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dale Tompkins was relentless in the 92nd minute of the game. Chesney Jobson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Shane Portway tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The AFC Ascoli players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
