The referee ignored Cosa Nostra's protests and gave Daniel Copil a yellow card for diving instead. In the 13th minute, Richard Lindley made a precise shot to the right of Vali Petrin. Cosa Nostra's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Vali Petrin didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Mike Way went, in the 15th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Mike Way hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. 21 minutes into the match, Maidstone United AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Marius Rareș came free, but Mickey Naisbitt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marius Rareș in the 22nd minute of play forced Maidstone United AFC's goalkeeper Mickey Naisbitt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 23 minutes into the game, Ionică Milcoveanu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Richard Lindley to make the kick off. After having played for 53 minutes, Marius Rareș managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cosa Nostra's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marius Rareș was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 54th minute Ionică Milcoveanu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mickey Naisbitt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Maidstone United AFC's zone, Romeo Grindeanu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mickey Naisbitt came out of the goal and Romeo Grindeanu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Richard Lindley in the 60th minute of play forced Cosa Nostra's goalkeeper Vali Petrin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cosa Nostra's supporters rose to their feet, but Marius Rareș was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mickey Naisbitt breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marius Rareș in the 95th minute of play forced Maidstone United AFC's goalkeeper Mickey Naisbitt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Maidstone United AFC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
