When Basil Quinnless fell near the penalty area in the 2nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Drumgowan Ut's protests and gave Basil Quinnless a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Kocaelispor booed when Drumgowan Ut was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Basil Quinnless didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 3rd minute, Fareed Hosny managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kocaelispor's supporters rose to their feet, but Fareed Hosny was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Theodore Rutherford breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Fionntán Benson came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the Drumgowan Ut fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fionntán Benson couldn't finish the play. In the 14th minute the ball was on its way in behind Drumgowan Ut's goalkeeper Theodore Rutherford, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some careless play in the Kocaelispor defense, Fionntán Benson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Mounir El-Shater. The Kocaelispor fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mounir El-Shater should have stopped the shot. Pat Kirby's late challenge caught a Kocaelispor's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Pat Kirby helped the player get up and apologised. In the 25th minute, Pat Kirby hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Theodore Rutherford was out of position in the 27 minute of play, and Salah Nagy capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Salah Nagy really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. Mounir El-Shater showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fionntán Benson in the 31st minute of the match. Blaithmeic McTom was extremely unlucky when he, in the 68th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Fionntán Benson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 75th minute Abdou Hatem shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Theodore Rutherford saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 77 minutes into the game, Salah Nagy cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Theodore Rutherford was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Herich Sheridan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Fionntán Benson blasted a shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Mounir El-Shater having to make a save. After having played for 89 minutes, Herich Sheridan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Drumgowan Ut's supporters crossed their fingers, but Herich Sheridan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the referee blew the final whistle, Kocaelispor could leave the field as winners, despite Drumgowan Ut having more of the ball for most of the match.
