Shane Portway showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Folke Carlsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. After 12 minutes, Vince Burgess made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Vidingsjö MOIF's Joar Lindberg tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 14th minute, Matt Whitmore hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. George Cook's late challenge caught a Vidingsjö MOIF's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. George Cook helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Scarborough AFC's George Cook got a free kick in the 16th minute. Shane Portway was a little too slow when Folke Carlsson got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 17th minute. The score was now 1-1. In the 21st minute Folke Carlsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Shane Portway saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Folke Carlsson in the 21st minute of play forced Scarborough AFC's goalkeeper Shane Portway to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 22nd minute, Staffan Josefsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Vince Burgess had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 29th minute Graeme Farrow shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joar Lindberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Folke Carlsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Scarborough AFC's Pierre Huckerby got a free kick in the 35th minute. The supporters of Vidingsjö MOIF booed when Scarborough AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Matt Whitmore didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 38th minute of the match Marcus Granqvist sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Shane Portway skillfully saved the ball. Shane Portway made a fantastic save in the 41st minute, when Staffan Josefsson sent off a good shot on target. Shane Portway showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Folke Carlsson in the 42nd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Folke Carlsson in the 44th minute of play forced Scarborough AFC's goalkeeper Shane Portway to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Folke Carlsson to strike the kick off in the second half. Scarborough AFC's Shane Portway played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Staffan Josefsson in the 52nd minute of play. In the 56th minute, Staffan Josefsson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Shane Portway was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. 59 minutes into the game, Folke Carlsson cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Shane Portway was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Joar Lindberg made an important save on a dangerous shot by Graeme Farrow in the 62nd minute. A collision led to Scarborough AFC getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Iain Keane hit a great ball. Shane Portway didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Staffan Josefsson went, in the 65th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-1 was the resulting score. After 68 played minutes Vidingsjö MOIF got a freekick which was hit by Mikael Petersson. Ben Proctor struck a weak shot in the 70th minute. Joar Lindberg didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Scarborough AFC. In the 72nd minute Vince Burgess shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joar Lindberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Joar Lindberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vince Burgess, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Shane Portway showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Folke Carlsson in the 73rd minute of the match. Shane Portway showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Folke Carlsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. Alvar Olofsson kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. When Graeme Farrow came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the Scarborough AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Graeme Farrow couldn't finish the play. In the 92nd minute, Staffan Josefsson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Shane Portway showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Staffan Josefsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. 96 minutes into the match, Scarborough AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Folke Carlsson came free, but Shane Portway reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Scarborough AFC's Gez Hassell got a good chance for a goal in the 99th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Vidingsjö MOIF's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
