Barney Barfield kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. 15 minutes into the match, AFC Ascoli's Kristian Topham sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Eddie Cadwallader narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 16 minutes into the match, Kristian Topham had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Eddie Cadwallader. Yellow Submarine FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Kristian Topham was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Dale Tompkins tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of AFC Ascoli booed when Yellow Submarine FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Trey Ingram didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jo Furlong recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Chesney Jobson struck a weak shot in the 32nd minute. Eddie Cadwallader didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for AFC Ascoli. Barney Barfield got his second yellow card in the match during the 34th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. When the match clock showed 36 minutes, the score became 0-3 when Chesney Jobson sped through Yellow Submarine FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Eddie Cadwallader. 0-4 became the score in the 43rd minute when Chesney Jobson elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Kristian Topham might have been able to make a better finish in the 46th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Eddie Cadwallader. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Kristian Topham ran back to his position shaking his head. Eddie Cadwallader didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Kristian Topham went, in the 48th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-5 was the resulting score. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-5.

Kristian Topham who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 54thth minute tested the skills of Eddie Cadwallader when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 56 minutes into the game, Kristian Topham was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. AFC Ascoli's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Yellow Submarine FC the free kick. After 56 played minutes AFC Ascoli got a freekick which was hit by Kristian Topham. Ronnie Moss fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dale Tompkins having to interfere. Kristian Topham could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 59th minute of the match, but Eddie Cadwallader made a huge save. Dale Tompkins took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Neil Brady, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dale Tompkins showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Neil Brady in the 70th minute of the match. 75 minutes into the match, Neil Brady notched a goal, 1-5, to the right of AFC Ascoli's Dale Tompkins. Dale Tompkins was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. AFC Ascoli's Dale Tompkins played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Neil Brady in the 78th minute of play. After a rather tough play, AFC Ascoli's Mick Slade got a free kick in the 78th minute. Dale Tompkins made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Neil Brady in the 83rd minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Neil Brady in the 86th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dale Tompkins prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Eddie Cadwallader was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Kristian Topham showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-6 in the 97 minute of play.
