Vali Petrin stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Graeme Farrow's shot from short distance in the 19th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vince Burgess in the 21st minute of play forced Cosa Nostra's goalkeeper Vali Petrin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 21st match minute, Cosa Nostra was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Romeo Grindeanu to maneuver through the defense. After 23 minutes, Tudor Buzilă mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cosa Nostra and the Scarborough AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Graeme Farrow stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ian Keane during the 53rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
