The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute, Afonso da Cunha made a precise shot to the right of Emerson Fittipaldi. CheersIsland FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Ludomil Ziomkowski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Freddie Rosendahl in the 8th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in CheersIsland FC's zone, Afonso da Cunha stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Emerson Fittipaldi came out of the goal and Afonso da Cunha tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Liviu Terzian came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Liviu Terzian couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, CheersIsland FC's Aleksander Abrahamsson got a free kick in the 18th minute. A collision led to CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Liviu Terzian hit a great ball. After 27 played minutes CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ got a freekick which was hit by David Brás. CheersIsland FC's Jonathan Hellström was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Ludomil Ziomkowski in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Afonso da Cunha took the ball and in the 33 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Emerson Fittipaldi. Emerson Fittipaldi dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. After a rather tough play, CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ's Emanuele Bertoni got a free kick in the 36th minute. Ludomil Ziomkowski came out of the goal in the 37th minute to try and stop a shot by CheersIsland FC's Jose Manuel González. But to his dismay, Jose Manuel González quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-4. 41 minutes into the match, CheersIsland FC's goal looked a bit too open when Afonso da Cunha came free, but Emerson Fittipaldi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Afonso da Cunha to make the kick off. Emerson Fittipaldi stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Afonso da Cunha's shot from short distance in the 51st minute. In the 52nd minute, CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ's Afonso da Cunha dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-6. After having played for 56 minutes, Afonso da Cunha managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ's supporters crossed their fingers, but Afonso da Cunha was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Afonso da Cunha in the 58th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Emerson Fittipaldi prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 60 minutes into the game, Afonso da Cunha cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-7. Emerson Fittipaldi was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ made a substitution. Wlodzimierz Swoboda replaced David Brás. CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ's Ludomil Ziomkowski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Birger Vollander in the 67th minute of play. In the 69th minute Afonso da Cunha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emerson Fittipaldi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 70 minutes into the game, CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ's Afonso da Cunha nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Emerson Fittipaldi made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-8. CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ made a substitution. Rambo von Buol-Schaudenstein replaced Emanuele Bertoni. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Zhou Wei Fan in the 81st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Emerson Fittipaldi saved CheersIsland FC from getting behind. Afonso da Cunha could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 84th minute of the match, but Emerson Fittipaldi made a huge save. In the 85th minute Zhou Wei Fan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emerson Fittipaldi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 86th minute, Xabel Briceño hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Xande Campbell could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 87th minute of the match, but Emerson Fittipaldi made a huge save. Emerson Fittipaldi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rambo von Buol-Schaudenstein, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rambo von Buol-Schaudenstein in the 96th minute of play forced CheersIsland FC's goalkeeper Emerson Fittipaldi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rambo von Buol-Schaudenstein took the ball and in the 96 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Emerson Fittipaldi. Emerson Fittipaldi dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-10. The CheersIsland FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
