The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Dani Hernández showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dave Di Filippo, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. 7 minutes into the match, Chivos de Punto Fijo's goalkeeper Dani Hernández had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ingemar Stålman. Oskar Haeger dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. A collision led to Chivos de Punto Fijo getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Adalberto Tejeda hit a great ball. Dani Hernández showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Harel Minsky in the 15th minute of the match. When Chivos de Punto Fijo's Nilmar Marinho in the 16th minute got a chance for a shot 16th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Hermanö Oilers's goalie prevented a goal. Chivos de Punto Fijo were awarded a corner in the 17th minute after Hermanö Oilers's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Filip Bochinski took the corner. A well-hit corner resulted in Pere Bombardier heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. After a defensive mix-up in Hermanö Oilers's zone, Filip Bochinski stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Oskar Haeger came out of the goal and Filip Bochinski tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Hermanö Oilers's Oskar Haeger played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nilmar Marinho in the 23rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ingemar Stålman in the 25th minute of play forced Chivos de Punto Fijo's goalkeeper Dani Hernández to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ingemar Stålman in the 25th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dani Hernández prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 27th minute Hermanö Oilers were awarded a corner. Harel Minsky went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Leonardo Sundin got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Dani Hernández quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After 31 played minutes Hermanö Oilers got a freekick which was hit by Jacek Zielinski. Oskar Haeger made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nilmar Marinho in the 32nd minute of play. Jacek Zielinski kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. Hermanö Oilers's Oskar Haeger played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nilmar Marinho in the 39th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Narciso Gombal managed to get in a good position for a shot. Chivos de Punto Fijo's supporters rose to their feet, but Narciso Gombal was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Oskar Haeger breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ingemar Stålman was the one to do the kick off. After 50 minutes, Narciso Gombal mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Chivos de Punto Fijo and the Hermanö Oilers players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Chivos de Punto Fijo's Narciso Gombal got a free kick in the 50th minute. Dani Hernández made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dave Di Filippo in the 51st minute of play. The Hermanö Oilers fans' excitement grew in the 51st match minute when Hermanö Oilers's Ingemar Stålman looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Dani Hernández took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Harel Minsky, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Oskar Haeger made a fantastic save in the 61st minute, when Filip Bochinski sent off a good shot on target. Chivos de Punto Fijo's Dani Hernández played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ingemar Stålman in the 65th minute of play. Chivos de Punto Fijo's Honorio Cerra was substituted for Narciso Gombal. Chivos de Punto Fijo's Juan Torrent was substituted for Nilmar Marinho. In the 71st minute of the match Hermanö Oilers got a corner. Chivos de Punto Fijo's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Harel Minsky ran over to the corner to take the kick. Oskar Haeger showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Juan Torrent, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. Oskar Haeger stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Filip Bochinski's shot from short distance in the 74th minute. Pere Bombardier could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 86th minute of the match, but Oskar Haeger made a huge save. A collision led to Hermanö Oilers getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Leonardo Sundin hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Honorio Cerra in the 92nd minute of play forced Hermanö Oilers's goalkeeper Oskar Haeger to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The score was 2-2 after 90 minutes, which forced the match into extra-time.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Harel Minsky got free with Dani Hernández in the 108th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Hermanö Oilers were awarded a corner in the 111th minute after Chivos de Punto Fijo's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Harel Minsky took the corner. In the 111thth minute of the game Luís Eduardo Loureiro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Chivos de Punto Fijo's Dani Hernández was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Hermanö Oilers's Oskar Haeger played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Juan Torrent in the 115th minute of play. Both sets of players were looking tired when the whistle went to end the half. Everyone was pleased to get a few minutes to rest before extra-time resumed.

When it was time for second half in the overtime, the players were a bit slow, but they soon became more alert when it was time for Ingemar Stålman to make the kick off. Dani Hernández showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dave Di Filippo, who was totally free with the ball in the 121st minute. It was a well-played corner which Leonardo Sundin managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. The Chivos de Punto Fijo players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
