The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Szymon Grunwalski in the 3rd minute of play forced Q. T. I.'s goalkeeper Paulo Txatxu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Paulo Txatxu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tạ Mara in the 13th minute of the match. 17 minutes into the match, Legia Warszawa 【L】's goalkeeper Lech Latkiewicz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Julian Raymundo. Lech Latkiewicz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anibal Lluques in the 19th minute of play. Q. T. I.'s Faustino Txerran quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Mariusz Jop, made in the 21st minute of the game. Q. T. I. were awarded a corner in the 26th minute after Legia Warszawa 【L】's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Eleuterio Nuno took the corner. Julian Raymundo made a great header on Q. T. I.'s corner, it was just that Legia Warszawa 【L】's Lech Latkiewicz managed to reach the ball for a save. I.'s Anibal Lluques got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Lech Trac made in the 47th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Roman Kosecki immediately put the ball in play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Anibal Lluques stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, Q. T. I.'s Paulo Txatxu got control of the ball when Szymon Grunwalski tried to sneak it across the goal line. Lech Latkiewicz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Anibal Lluques's shot from short distance in the 54th minute. Paulo Txatxu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tạ Mara in the 58th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tạ Mara in the 59th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Paulo Txatxu saved Q. T. I. from getting behind. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tạ Mara got free with Paulo Txatxu in the 67th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Lech Latkiewicz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anibal Lluques, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. After 71 minutes, Anibal Lluques made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Legia Warszawa 【L】's Lech Latkiewicz tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Dariusz Mierzwa's late challenge caught a Q. T. I.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dariusz Mierzwa helped the player get up and apologised. Dariusz Mierzwa hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. Eleuterio Nuno recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Lech Latkiewicz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jonas Henrico in the 91st minute of play. After having played for 95 minutes, Anibal Lluques managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Q. T. I.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Anibal Lluques was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

Q. T. I.'s fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
