Spectators: 36 (Terracing: 28, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Bury AFC's Ozzy Norton started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 4 played minutes, Nancy AFC's Noel Baker shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Robbie Gamble came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Nancy AFC reached it. 6 minutes into the match, Bury AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Sam Lowe came free, but Robbie Gamble reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Walter Gardner made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dominic Seaman in the 8th minute. Jimmy Riad took the ball and in the 9 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Robbie Gamble. Robbie Gamble dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Walter Gardner showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ozzy Norton in the 13th minute of the match. Bury AFC's Robbie Gamble played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jimmy Riad in the 21st minute of play. Dominic Seaman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 24 minutes into the match, Nancy AFC's goalkeeper Walter Gardner had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dominic Seaman. Robbie Gamble stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jack Taylor's shot from short distance in the 26th minute. Jack Taylor's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Robbie Gamble read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 27th minute of play. Robbie Gamble showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jack Taylor in the 30th minute of the match. Ozzy Norton received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Walter Gardner came out and tried to block the shot, but Ozzy Norton slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 31st minute. When Jimmy Little came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Bury AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jimmy Little couldn't finish the play. When Nancy AFC's Jimmy Riad in the 42nd minute got a chance for a shot 42nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Bury AFC's goalie prevented a goal. 43 minutes into the match, Nancy AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Ozzy Norton came free, but Walter Gardner reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Walter Gardner showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ozzy Norton, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. The supporters of Bury AFC booed when Nancy AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dom Woodman didn't get a good kick on the ball.

A collision led to Bury AFC getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Greg Jepson hit a great ball. Nancy AFC's Rodney Kessler shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 53rd minute of play. The shot was stopped by Robbie Gamble but with some difficulty. After 64th play minutes Jack Taylor shot 3-3, a short shot which went by Robbie Gamble and just under the crossbar into goal. Robbie Gamble made a fantastic save in the 68th minute, when Jack Taylor sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to Nancy AFC getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Jimmy Riad hit a great ball. In the 75th minute Ozzy Norton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Walter Gardner saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Robbie Gamble came out of the goal in the 76th minute to try and stop a shot by Nancy AFC's Jack Taylor. But to his dismay, Jack Taylor quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-4. When Bury AFC's Ozzy Norton in the 79th minute got a chance for a shot 79th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Nancy AFC's goalie prevented a goal. 81 minutes into the match, Bury AFC's goalkeeper Robbie Gamble had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jack Taylor. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vic Carragher in the 85th minute of play forced Nancy AFC's goalkeeper Walter Gardner to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bury AFC's Robbie Gamble played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jimmy Riad in the 86th minute of play. In the 88th minute, Jack Taylor left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Nancy AFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-5. In the 96th minute Dominic Seaman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Walter Gardner saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Nancy AFC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Nancy AFC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
