The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 6th match minute, Troyes FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mike Hunter to maneuver through the defense. Esteban Chavarria fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kristian Sykes having to interfere. 10 minutes into the game, Ruben Dickens was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Troyes FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Carrizal FC the free kick. In the 10th match minute, Troyes FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ruben Dickens to maneuver through the defense. In the 19th minute, Duncan Farrell fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Menéndez Dohrmann, passed just outside the right post. After a defensive mix-up in Carrizal FC's zone, Duncan Farrell stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Menéndez Dohrmann came out of the goal and Duncan Farrell tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Duncan Farrell recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Carl Dodgson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Menéndez Dohrmann having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Carl Dodgson got free with Menéndez Dohrmann in the 41st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Kristian Sykes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Esteban Chavarria's shot from short distance in the 53rd minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rodolfo Hurtado got free with Kristian Sykes in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Esteban Chavarria's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Kristian Sykes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 55th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Esteban Chavarria in the 56th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Kristian Sykes saved Troyes FC from getting behind. In the 58th minute, Carl Dodgson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Menéndez Dohrmann took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Duncan Farrell, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Menéndez Dohrmann showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Duncan Farrell in the 65th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mike Hunter during the 69th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Troyes FC's Mike Hunter got a free kick in the 69th minute. Duncan Farrell received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Menéndez Dohrmann tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Carl Dodgson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Esteban Chavarria fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kristian Sykes having to interfere. After 81 played minutes Carrizal FC got a freekick which was hit by Celestino Maggiora. Menéndez Dohrmann made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Duncan Farrell in the 84th minute of play. The supporters of Troyes FC booed when Carrizal FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alifonso Roquant didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Carrizal FC getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Celestino Maggiora hit a great ball. Lance Cambridge took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 89th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Menéndez Dohrmann. Carrizal FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. José Alberto Carrizo hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. 93 minutes into the game, Troyes FC's Duncan Farrell nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Menéndez Dohrmann made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. For all the effort they put into the match, the Carrizal FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Troyes FC.
