Fenerbahçe's Atilla Kağan Hastimur played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sam Lowe in the 14th minute of play. Jack Taylor had several of the Fenerbahçe's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 16 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-1 score and a disappointed Atilla Kağan Hastimur as he didn't even see the shot coming. After a rather tough play, Fenerbahçe's Diego Caiado got a free kick in the 24th minute. 29 minutes into the match, Nancy AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Diego Caiado came free, but Walter Gardner reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 35 minutes of play, Fenerbahçe's Rafet Ilgınlı made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Walter Gardner was left in no man's land by his defense there! Fenerbahçe's Diego Caiado got a good chance for a goal in the 48th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Diego Caiado made a kick off. In the 53rd minute Rodney Kessler shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Atilla Kağan Hastimur saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nancy AFC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 56th minute, when Diego Caiado scored to the left of an out of position Walter Gardner, making the score, 1-4. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Felix Howard during the 59th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Diego Caiado scored 1-8 in the 75th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Walter Gardner, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Nancy AFC's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Başar Karabey 79 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-9. When Jimmy Riad came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Nancy AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jimmy Riad couldn't finish the play. The Fenerbahçe supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Fenerbahçe would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
