In the 42nd minute Esteban Chavarria shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Walter Gardner saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 43rd minute, Juan Jesus Airola hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Esteban Chavarria to make the kick off. After 67 played minutes Nancy AFC got a freekick which was hit by Dom Woodman. Menéndez Dohrmann stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jimmy Riad's shot from short distance in the 70th minute. Celestino Maggiora received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute.
