The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Wakefield Wanderers's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Diamante Negro FC the free kick. After 12 played minutes Wakefield Wanderers got a freekick which was hit by Jez Rushforth. Aurelio Abeitia's late challenge caught a Wakefield Wanderers's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Aurelio Abeitia helped the player get up and apologised. In the 18th match minute, Diamante Negro FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aurelio Abeitia to maneuver through the defense. Darryl Simpson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Moreno Langarica having to interfere. After having played for 22 minutes, Fabian Bellmunt managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Diamante Negro FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fabian Bellmunt was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Alastair Quantrill received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Moreno Langarica tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Aurelio Abeitia hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Louie Hicks was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Fabian Bellmunt showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 31 minute of play. Jeff Duffy hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. After having played for 34 minutes, Fabian Bellmunt managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Alastair Quantrill hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. In the 46th minute, Alastair Quantrill made a precise shot to the right of Moreno Langarica. Diamante Negro FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
A collision led to Wakefield Wanderers getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Jez Rushforth hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Fabian Bellmunt managed to get in a good position for a shot. Diamante Negro FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Fabian Bellmunt was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Louie Hicks breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Louie Hicks made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fabian Bellmunt in the 65th minute of play. In the 70th minute, Kristian Tanner got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alastair Quantrill during the 74th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Diamante Negro FC were victorious despite being under pressure from Wakefield Wanderers for much of the match.
