Wakefield Wanderers's defense didn't have a chance, in the 16th minute, when Jack Taylor scored to the left of an out of position Louie Hicks, making the score, 1-0. Jack Taylor kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. In the 25th minute, Chaz Auckland hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 31 minutes into the game, Conan Blake was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Wakefield Wanderers's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Nancy AFC the free kick. After 57 played minutes Wakefield Wanderers got a freekick which was hit by Leon Slater. If Alastair Quantrill had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 62 played minutes Nancy AFC got a freekick which was hit by Felix Howard. After 68 played minutes Ron Garrett rounded Nancy AFC's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-2. Sam Lowe kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. Louie Hicks didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Sam Lowe went, in the 74th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. The supporters of Nancy AFC booed when Wakefield Wanderers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Darryl Simpson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Louie Hicks showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sam Lowe, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. Jack Taylor struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Louie Hicks didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Nancy AFC. The Nancy AFC manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Wakefield Wanderers to win.
