The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. ATC's supporters rose to their feet, but Gomez Periquet was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Menéndez Dohrmann breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. ATC's Andres Babia got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Menéndez Dohrmann took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gomez Periquet, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rodolfo Hurtado charged in rather forcefully in the 28th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rodolfo Hurtado the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Carrizal FC's Rodolfo Hurtado got a free kick in the 29th minute. When Andres Babia fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored ATC's protests and gave Andres Babia a yellow card for diving instead. Andres Babia hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Gomez Periquet fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Menéndez Dohrmann having to interfere. Gomez Periquet sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 41 minutes, Poroso Saldoval mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the ATC and the Carrizal FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Santo Roces went to the wrong direction when Juan Carlos Olivos was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. The referee gave Carrizal FC a penalty, 51 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Juan Carlos Olivos, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of ATC's Santo Roces. 1-1. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gomez Periquet to strike the kick off in the second half. Yépez Fias kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Carrizal FC's Juan Jesus Airola got a free kick in the 57th minute. ATC's Andres Babia managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Juan Carlos Olivos in the 60 minute of the game. Menéndez Dohrmann stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gomez Periquet's shot from short distance in the 61st minute. Santo Roces showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from José Alberto Carrizo, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Esteban Chavarria managed to get in a good position for a shot. Carrizal FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Esteban Chavarria was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Santo Roces breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Carrizal FC's Alifonso Roquant got a free kick in the 74th minute. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in ATC reached it. Santo Roces was a little too slow when Esteban Chavarria got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 78th minute. The score was now 1-2. 81 minutes into the match, ATC's goalkeeper Santo Roces had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rodolfo Hurtado. The corner led Carrizal FC's Juan Carlos Olivos to fire away a dangerous shot which Santo Roces despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Juan Carlos Olivos made in the 93rd minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Omar Arcos. In the 94th minute, Rodolfo Hurtado got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to ATC getting a freekick after 97 minutes play. Andres Babia hit a great ball. If Xeromo Artime had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 100th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Carrizal FC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
