Walter Gardner showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nestor Bâru, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. 10 minutes into the game, Unidad de Matanza's Nestor Bâru nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Walter Gardner made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Walter Gardner showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nestor Bâru in the 16th minute of the match. In the 17th minute of the match Unidad de Matanza got a corner. Nancy AFC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Waldemar Okopny ran over to the corner to take the kick. Unidad de Matanza's Waldemar Okopny was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Walter Gardner in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nestor Bâru in the 20th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Walter Gardner saved Nancy AFC from getting behind. 29 minutes into the game, Nestor Bâru cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Walter Gardner was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When the match clock showed 38 minutes, the score became 0-5 when Nestor Bâru sped through Nancy AFC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Walter Gardner. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nestor Bâru in the 41st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Walter Gardner prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After some careless play in the Nancy AFC defense, Nestor Bâru kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Walter Gardner. The Nancy AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Walter Gardner should have stopped the shot. Nestor Bâru blasted a shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Walter Gardner having to make a save. Walter Gardner showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nestor Bâru in the 47th minute of the match.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jack Taylor was the one to do the kick off. In the 50th minute, Noel Baker hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Nestor Bâru came up free with the goalie in the 51st minute, the Unidad de Matanza fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nestor Bâru couldn't finish the play. With a little luck, Nancy AFC's Walter Gardner got control of the ball when Nestor Bâru tried to sneak it across the goal line. Unidad de Matanza's Michal Stehno was substituted for Nestor Bâru. Unidad de Matanza's Máximo Kirchner was substituted for Yannick Bartz. Unidad de Matanza's Maarten Aelbrecht was substituted for Lotfi Ziadi. Walter Gardner stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Michal Stehno's shot from short distance in the 64th minute. If Robert Zemeckis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Michal Stehno in the 66th minute of play forced Nancy AFC's goalkeeper Walter Gardner to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Máximo Kirchner in the 68th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Walter Gardner saved Nancy AFC from getting behind. After 68 minutes, Máximo Kirchner made it 0-8 with a short kick to the right side. Nancy AFC's Walter Gardner tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Michal Stehno in the 70thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Walter Gardner, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 74th minute, Máximo Kirchner ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Walter Gardner was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-10. Nancy AFC's Walter Gardner proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 80th minute of the match, managed to save Nancy AFC from getting a goal against them. The Nancy AFC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Unidad de Matanza were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
