Reynaldo Tino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Walmyr Salles in the 9th minute of the match. 10 minutes into the match, Swindon Sweden FF's Marcus Östman sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Marcos Buffon narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 12th minute the ball was on its way in behind Swindon Sweden FF's goalkeeper Reynaldo Tino, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Sten Jespersson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcos Buffon having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 18 minutes, Walmyr Salles put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Reynaldo Tino. Luiz Pombal hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. AVAÍ F.C.'s Marcos Buffon proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to save AVAÍ F.C. from getting a goal against them. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 34 minutes into the match, Swindon Sweden FF's goal looked a bit too open when Dario Alegría came free, but Reynaldo Tino reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. AVAÍ F.C.'s Marcos Buffon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Brian Falck in the 36th minute of play. With his leg Marcos Buffon managed to avoid a goal in the 39thth minute, when Swindon Sweden FF's Marcus Östman fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Marcus Östman recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, AVAÍ F.C.'s Ivory Gunn got a free kick in the 43rd minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Walmyr Salles made a kick off. 51 minutes into the game, Brian Falck cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Marcos Buffon was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Reynaldo Tino made a fantastic save in the 53rd minute, when Walmyr Salles sent off a good shot on target. Swindon Sweden FF's Reynaldo Tino proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 57th minute of the match, managed to save Swindon Sweden FF from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Swindon Sweden FF booed when AVAÍ F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alex Sági didn't get a good kick on the ball. Walmyr Salles received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Reynaldo Tino tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. AVAÍ F.C. made a substitution. Tarcisio Chaves replaced Luiz Pombal. If Brian Falck had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Swindon Sweden FF made a substitution. Algot Spets replaced Kurt Haglund. In the 70th minute, Walmyr Salles ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Reynaldo Tino was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. In the 83rdth minute of the game Marcus Östman who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but AVAÍ F.C.'s Marcos Buffon was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Swindon Sweden FF's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Brian Falck in the 84th minute. Sten Jespersson made a great header on Swindon Sweden FF's corner, it was just that AVAÍ F.C.'s Marcos Buffon managed to reach the ball for a save. Reynaldo Tino made an important save on a dangerous shot by Walmyr Salles in the 87th minute. Alex Sági struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Reynaldo Tino didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for AVAÍ F.C.. Algot Spets fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcos Buffon having to interfere. 93 minutes into the match, Swindon Sweden FF's goalkeeper Reynaldo Tino had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Walmyr Salles. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched AVAÍ F.C. eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
