YESHUA F.C's Ricardo Zamora played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by François Rouvrais in the 8th minute of play. 15 minutes into the match, YESHUA F.C's goal looked a bit too open when François Rouvrais came free, but Ricardo Zamora reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 16 minutes into the match, FC Hamburg's goal looked a bit too open when David Torres came free, but Johnny Banks reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pompiliu Roşculeţ might have been able to make a better finish in the 17th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ricardo Zamora. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Pompiliu Roşculeţ ran back to his position shaking his head. 22 minutes into the match, Denílson Pernambucano dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Johnny Banks, 1-0. Ricardo Zamora showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pompiliu Roşculeţ, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. After having played for 40 minutes, Hendrik Holletschek managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Hamburg's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hendrik Holletschek was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 42 minutes into the match, FC Hamburg's goalkeeper Johnny Banks had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by David Torres. 44 minutes into the match, FC Hamburg's goal looked a bit too open when Matt Sharples came free, but Johnny Banks reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cristos Contreras kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for François Rouvrais to strike the kick off in the second half. Ricardo Zamora showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pompiliu Roşculeţ, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ricardo Zamora prevented the ball from getting in the gole. François Rouvrais's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ricardo Zamora read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 60th minute of play. François Rouvrais could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 62nd minute of the match, but Ricardo Zamora made a huge save. Johnny Banks took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Matt Sharples, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 64 minutes FC Hamburg's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was John Coracera who took care of the corner kick. Ricardo Zamora made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pompiliu Roşculeţ in the 65th minute of play. François Rouvrais could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 67th minute of the match, but Ricardo Zamora made a huge save. In the 71st minute, FC Hamburg's Muhammad Bejaoui dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. Johnny Banks showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from David Torres in the 77th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by David Torres in the 79th minute of play forced FC Hamburg's goalkeeper Johnny Banks to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. David Torres took the ball and in the 86 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Johnny Banks. Johnny Banks dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. FC Hamburg made a substitution. Rafael Pausch replaced Manfred Kottsieper. After 90 played minutes YESHUA F.C got a freekick which was hit by Lino Valle. FC Hamburg's Hendrik Holletschek got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, YESHUA F.C's Lino Valle got a free kick in the 92nd minute. In the 93rd match minute, YESHUA F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hu Guang to maneuver through the defense. Hendrik Holletschek was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 94th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. For all the effort they put into the match, the FC Hamburg players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for YESHUA F.C.
