Walter Gardner made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hortêncio Vander in the 10th minute of play. After some careless play in the Nancy AFC defense, Hortêncio Vander kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Walter Gardner. The Nancy AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Walter Gardner should have stopped the shot. Cauã Ramos scored 0-5 in the 22nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Walter Gardner, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Hortêncio Vander took the ball and in the 24 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Walter Gardner. Walter Gardner dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-6. Hortêncio Vander's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Walter Gardner read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 27th minute of play. 29 minutes into the match, Hortêncio Vander had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Walter Gardner. Nancy AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Hortêncio Vander was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-7. Walter Gardner showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hortêncio Vander in the 32nd minute of the match. Hortêncio Vander fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Walter Gardner having to interfere. Hortêncio Vander sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Walter Gardner was left in no man's land by his defense there! Walter Gardner came out of the goal in the 48th minute to try and stop a shot by Nada Pontual F.C's Hortêncio Vander. But to his dismay, Hortêncio Vander quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-9. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-9.

Hortêncio Vander who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 56thth minute tested the skills of Walter Gardner when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After a rather tough play, Nancy AFC's Noel Baker got a free kick in the 58th minute. Cauã Ramos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 61 minutes, Hortêncio Vander made it 0-10 with a short kick to the right side. Nancy AFC's Walter Gardner tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Hortêncio Vander blasted a shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Walter Gardner having to make a save. Nada Pontual F.C's Zé Carlos Neves was substituted for Alexsandro Linares. Nada Pontual F.C's Richard Schmidt was substituted for Edgar Trigo. Sam Marcos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sam Lowe, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when João Francisco Martins got free with Walter Gardner in the 80th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 83rd minute Cauã Ramos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Walter Gardner saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 85 minutes into the match, Nancy AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Richard Schmidt came free, but Walter Gardner reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cauã Ramos in the 86th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Walter Gardner saved Nancy AFC from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Richard Schmidt in the 87th minute of play forced Nancy AFC's goalkeeper Walter Gardner to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 89 minutes into the match, Nada Pontual F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Jack Taylor came free, but Sam Marcos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 90 minutes into the match, Cauã Ramos had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Walter Gardner. Carles De Ligt kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. In the 96th minute, Olly Masters got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Nada Pontual F.C's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
