In the 20th minute, Hauk Hareide ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Waldir Araújo was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. After 25 played minutes La Bichineta got a freekick which was hit by Arnaldo Pirmin. Silvestre Peli made an important save on a dangerous shot by Pascual Lamberto in the 30th minute. In the 34th minute the ball was on its way in behind C. S. Peron y Belgrano's goalkeeper Waldir Araújo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 38 minutes into the match, C. S. Peron y Belgrano's goal looked a bit too open when Hauk Hareide came free, but Waldir Araújo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 40th minute of the match La Bichineta got a corner. C. S. Peron y Belgrano's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Dariusz Motyl ran over to the corner to take the kick. La Bichineta's Dariusz Motyl was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Waldir Araújo in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Waldir Araújo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hauk Hareide, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Pascual Lamberto to make the kick off. After having played for 53 minutes, Hauk Hareide managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. La Bichineta's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hauk Hareide was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hauk Hareide in the 55th minute of play forced C. S. Peron y Belgrano's goalkeeper Waldir Araújo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 57th minute of the match La Bichineta got a corner. C. S. Peron y Belgrano's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Dariusz Motyl ran over to the corner to take the kick. Waldir Araújo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hauk Hareide in the 61st minute of play. La Bichineta made a substitution. Carolo Abancens replaced Hauk Hareide. La Bichineta's Vennard Rojak was substituted for Dorival de Azevedo. In the 64th minute La Bichineta were awarded a corner. Dariusz Motyl went to the cornerflag to take it. La Bichineta's Silvestre Peli played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pascual Lamberto in the 68th minute of play. After 70 minutes of play, La Bichineta's Carolo Abancens made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Waldir Araújo was left in no man's land by his defense there! C. S. Peron y Belgrano's Gusmão Azeredo was substituted for Pascual Lamberto. After some careless play in the C. S. Peron y Belgrano defense, Sun Yuan Zheng kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Waldir Araújo. The C. S. Peron y Belgrano fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Waldir Araújo should have stopped the shot. La Bichineta made a substitution. Timoteo Izel replaced Sun Yuan Zheng. The audience thought a goal was coming when Vennard Rojak got free with Waldir Araújo in the 86th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 88th minute Felix Castel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Waldir Araújo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 89thth minute of the game Felix Castel who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but C. S. Peron y Belgrano's Waldir Araújo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. La Bichineta played a much better game than C. S. Peron y Belgrano and deserved their victory. The C. S. Peron y Belgrano players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
